The Maine State Approving Agency for Veterans Education Programs is pleased to present the Directory of Education and Training Programs Approved for the Enrollment of Military Personnel, Veterans and Dependents. The Directory is published primarily to assist individuals who provide career counseling to GI Bill benefit recipients. It also can be a valuable resource to other educators since it is one of the most comprehensive listings of postsecondary education programs offered in our State.
The State Approving Agency is responsible for approving programs of education and training offered in Maine to individuals who qualify for GI Bill benefits. It also has responsibility for providing leadership for the development and implementation of programs and services to (1) enhance the educational achievement levels of GI Bill beneficiaries and (2) increase the use of the various educational assistance programs administered by the federal U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Members of the Agency are active participants in national and state level organizations that have similar interests and responsibilities. The Advisory Council on Education of the Military and Veterans in Maine and the Maine Transfer Association are two such organizations. Each is committed to assisting prospective students to successfully enroll in programs of education with advanced standing when appropriate.
Again, we are pleased to offer this Directory to you and welcome your suggestions on how we can improve its usefulness.
Sincerely,
SAA-VETS@maine.edu
